About this Course

This is a beginner level course that will introduce the students to the concepts, uses, tools, processes, and techniques of television journalism. The students will learn about the functioning of a TV news channel, roles and responsibilities, newsroom operations, electronic news gathering production techniques, news gathering, anchoring, and a lot more. We will be covering 5 modules in this course.

  • Introduction to TV- history, and evolution of TV

  • Construction of News- WHAT IS NEWS, Principles of Reporting etc

  • TV News Production- Different Departments in TV Channels

  • News Anchoring and Presentation

  • Understanding Television

The objective of the course is to make students skilled for a career in television media. One could explore options such as that of a news reporter, anchor, editor, cameraperson, etc.

  • No prior experience is required. We will start from the very basics

  • All a student needs to take this course is a pencil, paper, and a computer or mobile device with internet connection

  • A device for recording yourself is recommended
